Depending on where you live, you likely have been hunkered down at home for a while now. If you need some tips on how to get your body moving while staying at home, visit this blog.

Next time you settle into your cozy couch, and before you start rewatching the entire series of Friends, consider watching one of these nutrition-focused documentaries! In need of a movie snack? Why not make yourself a mocktail and these yummy health-conscious cookies in place of soda and buttery popcorn.

Amazon Prime

  • Fat: A Documentary, 2019 - Health expert Vinne Tortorick exposes the history behind myths and lies regarding healthy eating, fat, and weight loss.

  • Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, 2010 - Morbidly obese Joe Cross endeavors to drink only fruit and vegetable juice for 60 days in an effort to lose weight, reboot his health, an inspire others along the way. We don't necessarily recommend juice cleanses as the best way to lose weight but adding more fruits and vegetables into your diet via occasional juices and smoothies is a great option!

  • Fed Up, 2014 - Fed Up blows the lid off everything we thought we know about food and exercise, revealing a 30-year campaign by the food industry to mislead and confuse the American public.

  • GMO OMG, 2013 - Filmmaker Jeremy Seifert journeys around the world in search of answers about genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and how they affect our children, the health of our planet, and our freedom of choice.

  • That Sugar Film, 2015 - In the vein of “Supersize Me”, Damon Gameau becomes a human guinea pig when he puts himself through a grueling 6 week diet consuming the equivalent of 40 teaspoons of sugar a day.

Netflix

  • Forks over Knives, 2011 - According to the research of two food scientists, the popularity of processed foods has led to epidemic rates of obesity, diabetes, and other diseases. We don't necessarily recommend a vegan diet for everyone but adding more fruits and vegetables into your diet is a great way to improve your health!

Independent

  • Secret Ingredients, 2018 - While the debate continues about GMOs, Roundup and other toxic pesticides, this powerful film shares remarkable stories of people who regain their health after discovering the secret ingredients in their food and making a bold commitment to avoid them. This movie is occasionally available for free or for a $4.99 rental fee to support the creators.
